Position Overview:
We are seeking a Product Owner with strong software development experience and healthcare/medical device domain knowledge to support the delivery of software products in a regulated environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing product backlogs, defining user stories and acceptance criteria, coordinating with engineering teams, and translating business requirements into well-structured software solutions. Knowledge of medical instruments, particularly Flow Cytometry, is required.
Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment with medical instrumentation is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own, manage, groom, and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, ROI, and strategic objectives.
- Define clear user stories, feature specifications, and acceptance criteria for development teams.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and other cross-functional groups to gather and translate requirements.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and other Agile/Scrum activities.
- Bridge communication between business stakeholders and agile development teams.
- Review and accept completed sprint deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and user requirements.
- Translate requirements into well-structured and documented software components.
- Work with engineering teams to establish requirements specifications and test plans for software product validation.
- Research, evaluate, recommend, and support the development of products, methodologies, and technologies.
- Participate in design reviews and code inspections.
- Support defect resolution and ensure assigned issues are addressed effectively.
- Develop or support automated unit testing to ensure software meets defined design criteria.
- Identify potential system faults, failure modes, and unusual events and ensure appropriate risk mitigation.
- Contribute to project planning, including scope, timelines, task estimates, and execution priorities.
- Monitor project progress against commitments and communicate risks or schedule impacts to leadership.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- 5+ years of Object-Oriented Design experience.
- 5+ years of Object-Oriented Programming experience.
- 3+ years of C#/.NET experience.
- 3+ years of web development experience with technologies such as:
- JavaScript
- AngularJS
- ASP.NET
- CSS
- HTML
- jQuery
- SignalR
- WebAPI
- Strong Product Owner experience with backlog management, user story creation, prioritization, and acceptance criteria.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of medical instruments, particularly Flow Cytometry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a regulated FDA environment.

- Experience supporting software products involving hardware/medical devices.
- Experience with software validation and testing in regulated environments.
