Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Data Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of Snowflake-powered data pipelines in a modern cloud-first data ecosystem. You will play a key role in building scalable ELT workflows, optimizing warehouse performance, and enabling secure, governed data access across business and analytics teams.

As a senior member of the data engineering team, you’ll partner with BI, ML, and DevOps teams to ensure high-performance integration, cost-efficiency, and robust data delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • ELT Development: Build high-performance, modular ELT workflows using SnowSQL, dbt, Airflow, or AWS Glue
  • Data Modeling: Implement cost-effective schemas (e.g., star/snowflake/hybrid), clustering, and partitioning
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize query performance through micro-partitioning, caching, and warehouse scaling
  • Data Security: Configure RBAC, data masking, and secure data sharing across teams and external partners
  • Cloud Integration: Integrate Snowflake with AWS (S3, Lambda, IAM) for automated and event-driven ingestion
  • Analytics & ML Support: Enable BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI) and ML workflows using feature engineering best practices
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Track performance, manage SLAs, and support production stability
  • Documentation & Standards: Follow coding best practices, CI/CD workflows, and author technical documentation

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering with a strong cloud focus
  • 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience, including SnowSQL, warehouse tuning, and governance features
  • Deep understanding of SQL, query tuning, and large-scale analytics workloads
  • Experience with dbtApache Airflow, or AWS Glue for orchestrating workflows
  • Solid knowledge of AWS ecosystem, including S3, Lambda, IAM, and serverless components
  • Familiarity with RBAC, dynamic masking, and secure data exchange within Snowflake
  • Proven ability to connect Snowflake with BI tools and support ML model pipelines
  • Strong communication skills—comfortable working cross-functionally and translating requirements into scalable data solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Snowflake or AWS certifications (e.g., SnowPro Core)
  • Experience using Snowpark (Python, Scala, or Java)
  • Familiarity with data governance tools like Collibra or Alation
  • Background in CI/CD pipelines and version control using Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and performance bonus
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Professional development and continuous learning opportunities
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment
