About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Automation Engineer with strong expertise in backend API automation, particularly in Java, REST Assured, and cloud-based testing tools. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing robust automation frameworks, ensuring high-quality API validation, and collaborating closely with development and QA teams to drive excellence across our software delivery lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for backend API testing using Java and REST Assured.
- Build and execute comprehensive API test cases, covering functional, regression, and performance aspects.
- Utilize tools like Testfully and Jira to manage test cases, track defects, and ensure traceability.
- Integrate API automation into CI/CD pipelines for seamless execution.
- Work with AWS services to validate APIs in cloud-native environments.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA to define automation strategies and improve product quality.
- Mentor junior team members in automation best practices.
- Provide detailed reporting and analysis of test execution results, ensuring issues are identified and resolved quickly.
Must-Have Skills
- 7+ years of experience in automation engineering, with a focus on API testing.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java and RestAssured framework.
- Proficiency in API testing methodologies and validation strategies.
- Experience working with Testfully for API test automation.
- Expertise with Jira for defect tracking and test management.
- Working knowledge of AWS services related to API hosting, monitoring, or testing.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with additional test automation frameworks (e.g., Postman/Newman, Karate).
- Exposure to performance testing of APIs.
- Experience with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
