Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Business Data Analyst who excels at large-scale data analysis, mapping, and transformations within the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain. You will partner with business stakeholders and SMEs to gather requirements, define source-to-target mappings (STTM), and implement robust data consolidation and standardization pipelines on Snowflake and SQL platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to gather and clarify data requirements.
  • Connect with client SMEs to understand business functionality, data structures, and workflows.
  • Perform data profiling to assess data quality, identify critical data elements, and recommend improvements.
  • Create and maintain source-to-target mappings (STTM), data lineage documents, and transformation logic.
  • Develop optimized SQL queries for data validation, reporting, and profiling.
  • Design and document data models, ensuring consistency and scalability across platforms.
  • Contribute to data integration and migration efforts, ensuring alignment with business rules and objectives.
  • Assist in standardizing reference and master data across systems to support enterprise reporting and analytics.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with large-scale data applications focused on data analysis, mapping, and transformation.
  • Strong expertise in Snowflake data warehousing, including schema design and performance tuning.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including analytical queries and query optimization.
  • Experience creating detailed STTM documents and translating business requirements into technical logic.
  • Exposure to data consolidation, transformation, and standardization frameworks.
  • Experience in the P&C insurance domain, including understanding of policy and claims lifecycles.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to work directly with stakeholders and SMEs.

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Data Vault 2.0 and data modeling best practices.
  • Experience with data integration and migration projects.
  • Knowledge of metadata management and reference/master data standardization.
  • Understanding of data governance and documentation best practices.
