Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Business Data Analyst who excels at large-scale data analysis, mapping, and transformations within the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain. You will partner with business stakeholders and SMEs to gather requirements, define source-to-target mappings (STTM), and implement robust data consolidation and standardization pipelines on Snowflake and SQL platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end data solution design: gather business requirements, document STTM, and translate into technical specifications.
  • Develop and optimize analytical SQL queries for data profiling, reporting, and performance tuning.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance Snowflake data models, including schema design, clustering keys, and access controls.
  • Implement ETL/ELT processes for data consolidation and standardization, ensuring high data quality and lineage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—actuarial, underwriting, claims—to validate data transformations against business rules.
  • Troubleshoot data issues in production: root-cause analysis, debugging, and timely resolution of data discrepancies.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and analysts on best practices in SQL, Snowflake, and data governance.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in large-scale data applications, including data analysis, mapping, and transformation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Snowflake: data warehousing, clustering, shares, and security.
  • Proficient in SQL, including complex analytical queries and query optimization techniques.
  • Practical experience documenting source-to-target mappings (STTM) and translating business requirements into ETL logic.
  • Exposure to data consolidation, transformation, and standardization frameworks.
  • Strong background in the P&C insurance domain, with working knowledge of policy and claims lifecycles.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to partner with stakeholders and business SMEs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with data modelling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin) and metadata management.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD for data pipelines (Jenkins, Git).
  • Exposure to AWS data services (S3, Glue, Athena) or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of data governance, security best practices, and regulatory requirements in insurance.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance bonus
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Professional development and continuous learning opportunities
  • Collaborative and innovative work environment
